Back From Camp.

Well I'm back from Summer Camp 06. I must say that our kids are totally amazing. I was really feelin' the love on this camp. I had some drama on the first day which was a bit disappointing, but once I'd recovered I had a really great time. Watching Paul was amazing, the way he interacted with the kids, the way he is genuinely interested in them, and what matters to them. The atmosphere around the place was beautiful, and the way the kids were with each other just made me even more excited about this year at Youth. The sense of community is really building.

Not Long Till Camp!

I LOVE CAMP!!! Camp is the highlight of my year. I wait all year...just for camp to come. This year marks the 10th anniversary of my first Youth Camp. It makes me feel a little old, but I still love camp as much as I ever did, probably even more now.
Andrew and I are heading down to Serpentine on Monday (one day early) to help set up, and watch the gear overnight so It doesn't get nicked. We've done it a couple of times before, and it's always cool to have the campsite just to the techies. They're a quality bunch.
I still don't really know what God's got planned, which makes me think it's probably too big for my little brain to handle.
Whatever happens I want it to be real, not manufactured, not simulated. I want God to do whatever he wants, to have camp his way. His ideas are always way better than mine anyway.

That's All Folks...

Well my relax time has finished. Now time for some fun-yet energy consuming time. I'm at Planet Shakers for the rest of this week, catching up with friends each afternoon, preparing for a gig and camp, next week I'll be on camp and then straight back at TAFE. It's looking pretty full on, but good fun.
And so my slacking off time has ended, a little too soon for my liking, but it's OK.

Better

I'm feeling heaps better now. I spoke to Morro for like two secs and just suddenly felt excitement about camp increase. I was excited before, but only mildly excited. Now I'm getting really pumped. The weather looks like it's going to be really good this week too.
Yay for feeling better!!!

It's 4:08am

It's 4:08am.

I don't want to go to sleep. I don't want to be awake. I don't want to eat. I don't want to drink. I don't want to read. I don't want to write. I don't want to watch TV. I don't want to play my guitar.
I had a bit of a sucky day, but I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to do anything. I don't want to do nothing.

I wish I had something uplifting and encouraging to say, but I don't.
I wish I had something uplifting and encouraging to think, but I don't.

Maybe tomorrow...

I Like The Rainingness

I like rain. It is good. It makes stuff wet.

The last couple of days have been very uneventful, hence the lack of postage.

Wanna Go?

Apparently someone pre-ordered like 100 registrations for this year's Planet Shakers and they've got about 60 left so they're selling them for $25. Karlee is looking for people who want them. So if you want a full Planet Shakers rego. for $25 (they're $80 normally) let me know (or just give Karlee a call).

To Post...Or Not To Post?

I don't have much to say, so I'm contemplating the point of even posting today.

A couple of nights ago I saw a large spider (which looked like a huntsman) walking down the hall. I was not feeling well and decided to get drugs before dealing with the spider. It ran under the bookcase, and when I returned it was gone. I told my parents when they got home from Dunsborough to keep an eye out for it. Well, tonight, they found it. It appears that the spider is a funnel web, which is strange because they aren't supposed to live in Perth. In all other ways it seems to be a funnel web though. Some research shows that males (which he seems to be) like to come inside on a hot, humid, rainy night looking for some lovin'. This would explain what he was doing inside on a hot, humid, rainy night. I'm going to take him to the CSIRO and get them to identify him. He is now microwaved and living in a small jar.
I think I'm actually glad that it was a funnel web, or similar because he had no chance of climbing into bed with me. Which is probably why I slept fine once the drugs set in. I think I'll clean up the clothes off my bedroom floor though. Would hate for one to get inside my shirt, or worse, my pants.

On a completely different note I am feeling VERY relaxed. I spent Friday and Saturday on the couch under the air conditioning watching TV. Not very productive I know, but very de-stressing. I think I'm very nearly ready to take on the rest of the year.

The Sun Also Rises

I was up for the sunrise this morning, it's not actually of the sun, but the way the sky was around the city was cool.

A Poem, How Nice.

It doesn't rhyme, I know this. It's kind of long, but so is life.

I'm restless.
Can't lie still.
My pregnant mind
just refuses to give birth.

No rest for the wicked.
Am I really that bad?
Thought I'd attained perfection.
I am perfect aren't I?

What's this?
Not perfect?
I still fall?
Still sin?

Playing scenes in my head.
Around and round.
Over and over.
There is no end.

The air has grown stagnant.
I can't seem to breathe.
Is this the beginning, or the end
to my insanity?

Play the scene.
I play the scene.

My thoughts offer no closure,
no end to the pain.
They give me no answers.
There is no release.

So around and round.
Over and over.
I play the scene.

Monotonous and pointless.
It won't get me anywhere
but I just can't stop.
Can't turn them off.

Exhaustion kicks in.
I get desperate.
I say "Daddy help me"
And I am granted sleep.

Sleep through the morning
and wake up tired
knowing that I'll do it again
this very night

and the next
and the next

Play the scene in my mind.
Around and round.
Over and over.
Is there an end?

No rest for the wicked.
But I'm covered by Grace.
It is there that you meet me.

Be still and know
But that's so hard
Be still and know
Alright, I'll do my best.
That's all I ever ask

I am given rest.

Some Sunsets For Serg

The sunsets over the last week have been AMAZING! Unfortunately the best one was on Monday night and I had to take shots from my house, but it's still cool. I've headed down to the beach a couple of times (seeing as I only live five minutes away) and I think I'll probably make an effort to go a bit more. Serg wants to see less pictures of people and more of nice "stuff", so these are for him.

Hey, A Game...

Which of these was not mentioned in my previous post?
